Native American children in the frontier of southeastern Montana face deep-rooted challenges: generational trauma, poverty, and limited opportunities. Our boys and girls are not defined by these hardships because at St. Labre Indian School, they have a New Direction—a path toward a stronger, brighter future for themselves, their families, and their communities throughout the summer months and into the new school year.
New Direction highlights how St. Labre is more than just a school. It is a place where our kids are equipped with the tuition-free education and tools they need to become the leaders and change-makers of tomorrow. Audiences hear directly from students about how St. Labre provides not only a strong education, but also a safe and supportive space where they can take pride in their cultural heritage and grow with confidence.
Air New Direction today and create Proud, Prosperous and Free futures for Native American children of the Northern Cheyenne and Crow Tribes.
Since St. Labre’s founding in 1884, we believe that all students deserve a superior education and that all students can achieve at the highest levels by educating the whole child. Beginning with pre-school and kindergarten, through high school we provide an exceptional private school education to Native American children in Southeastern Montana at minimal or no-cost to their families.
The St. Labre educational experience places great importance on Native American culture and tradition. Instruction in Native American languages and culture is a vital part of the curriculum. St. Labre also offers courses in Native American literature, history, and tribal government.
